Speaking to VNA reporters, Mr. Do Bao Ngoc, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Construction Securities Joint Stock Company (CSI), said that this event not only has strategic significance in foreign affairs, but is also a "psychological boost" to help strengthen investors' confidence in the long-term prospects of the Vietnamese stock market.

Sir, the announcement of the Joint Statement on the Framework for a Reciprocal, Fair and Balanced Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the US is considered an important step forward in bilateral economic relations. How do you assess the psychological impact of this information on the Vietnamese stock market?

I think this is very positive news for investor sentiment. This joint statement demonstrates the growing level of strategic trust between Vietnam and the US, and sends a clear message about the commitment to long-term and equal cooperation between the two economies.

For the stock market, this is an important psychological boost. This information not only creates short-term excitement for investors, but also helps strengthen confidence in Vietnam's stable policy environment and deep integration trend.

I think that stock groups related to exports, industrial parks, logistics or technology will benefit the soonest thanks to expectations of increased orders and new investment flows.

According to the Joint Statement, the two sides will aim to resolve non-tariff barriers and adjust reciprocal tax policies in the spirit of balance and fairness. If the US really lowers the reciprocal tax rate on Vietnamese goods, how will this affect the prospects of export stocks, sir?

If the US makes more positive tax adjustments for Vietnamese goods, the impact will be very clear. Tax reductions will help Vietnamese businesses increase their competitive advantage, expand market share and improve profit margins, especially in industries such as textiles, seafood, wood products, rubber and electronic components.

From a market perspective, export stocks may be revalued at higher levels due to expectations of improved business results. In addition, the removal of trade barriers may also attract stronger foreign capital flows back to businesses with a sustainable export foundation. However, investors should note that these commitments take time to negotiate and implement, so the impact will be medium and long term rather than immediate.

One of the notable contents of the Joint Statement is the agreement on commitments on digital trade, services and investment. From the perspective of the capital market, how do you think technology, finance - banking or logistics stocks can benefit from this trend?

This is a very remarkable direction, because digital trade and service investment are two important pillars in the new development stage.

For the technology industry, opportunities come from cooperation in technology transfer, data infrastructure development, AI and cybersecurity. Vietnamese enterprises with technological capacity and international cooperation will benefit greatly.

The banking and finance sector has also benefited from the strong demand for electronic payments, cross-border transactions and digital financial services. This is an inevitable trend that promotes growth for banks with good digital platforms.

The logistics industry will indirectly benefit as e-commerce and FDI expand, leading to increased demand for transportation, warehousing, and modern supply chains. It can be said that digital commerce is not only an opportunity for the technology sector but also spreads to the entire economy.

The two countries affirmed their cooperation on the principles of “equality, respect for independence, autonomy and mutual benefit”. In your opinion, how can this strengthen the confidence of foreign capital, especially US investment funds, in the Vietnamese market?

This principle is particularly important in building trust for international investors. American investment funds attach great importance to political stability, transparency and commitment to respecting market rules. When Vietnam clearly demonstrates its stance on equal, independent and mutually beneficial cooperation, it significantly reduces policy risks in the eyes of institutional investors.

I believe that this is a fundamental factor that helps strengthen the image of Vietnam as a safe, highly independent and market-oriented investment destination. This will encourage foreign capital, especially long-term capital, to return more strongly in the coming time.

From an investment strategy perspective, what recommendations do you have for domestic investors in the prospect of Vietnam and the US moving towards a reciprocal, fair and balanced trade agreement in the coming time?

For domestic investors, it is important to view this process in a long-term perspective. This is not a story of “buying on the news” but a strategic development trend.

I think we should focus on three main directions: First, prioritize export enterprises with a solid financial foundation and the ability to meet international standards, especially in industries favored by the US.

Second, focus on stocks related to trade infrastructure and digital transformation – these are areas that will benefit when trade and investment cooperation is expanded.

Third, maintain a medium- and long-term investment strategy, because the impact of trade agreements always comes according to policy cycles and actual business operations.

This joint statement is the first step towards a deeper cooperation. If the negotiation process is effectively implemented, Vietnam's stock market can enter a new growth phase, supported by both exports and a strong return of international capital flows.

Thank you very much for the interview!
