The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management said it had received media reports about suspicions that An Dong General Clinic (address 360 An Duong Vuong, Ward 4, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) had caused negative impacts on public opinion, treatment quality and patients' finances, and negatively impacted the overall reputation of medical examination and treatment facilities and the health sector.

Accordingly, An Dong General Clinic was reported by the press for "faking illnesses to extort money", "copying test results"...

In order to rectify the activities of private clinics and ensure the rights and safety of patients, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requests the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with law enforcement agencies to urgently inspect and verify the information reported by the press regarding the activities of An Dong General Clinic.

In particular, meeting and complying with regulations on medical examination and treatment practice, especially compliance with protocols and guidelines for diagnosis and treatment. Strictly handle individuals and groups in accordance with the law if there are violations, ensuring the deterrence of the law, publicity and transparency.

The Department also requested units to strengthen inspection and examination of the practice activities of non-public medical facilities.

Especially private clinics in the management area to detect early and strictly handle violations of medical examination and treatment facilities operating outside the scope of licensed practice, not ensuring professional regulations and medical examination and treatment procedures.

Publicly announce on mass media medical examination and treatment facilities and clinics with violations so that people know and participate in monitoring.

Promote the dissemination and guidance on the implementation of legal regulations on medical examination and treatment for private clinics in particular and medical examination and treatment facilities in general in the management area.

At the same time, raise awareness of people when they need to use medical examination and treatment services. Units report to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, the Ministry of Health and competent authorities.
