Previously, from May 1 to 9, the program screened 300 people with eye diseases. After screening, 50 patients were eligible for surgery. The program applied Phaco eye surgery techniques and used soft lenses, so patients did not feel pain, the incision was small and the bandage could be removed after a few hours.
According to Colonel Nguyen Viet Cuong, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175 , the program "Brightening Vietnamese Eyes" is a charity surgery project initiated in 2020 with the aim of joining hands to care for and protect the eye health of Vietnamese people; timely support for families of policy beneficiaries, officers, soldiers, workers and people in difficult circumstances to overcome illness.

In addition to free surgery, Military Hospital 175, Army Corps 16 and Truong Tuoi Group presented 50 gifts to patients including cash and gifts, each worth 1,000,000 VND. Military Hospital 175 presented 10 gifts to officers and employees of Military Hospital 16 who are in difficult circumstances.
