This move was made after Cong Thuong Newspaper reported that Hikid exaggerated its uses, provided misleading information and showed signs of deceiving consumers.

The article reflects the situation of advertising Hikid with sensational content such as "100g of Hikid milk is equal to 20 liters of regular milk" - unverified information that can strongly impact the psychology of parents with young children.

According to the Food Safety Department, the company that imports and exclusively distributes Hikid in Vietnam is headquartered in Hanoi . The Food Safety Department requested the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department to inspect and handle the relevant organizations and individuals; at the same time, report the results to the Department and inform the Industry and Trade Newspaper.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Security dismantled a large-scale fake milk powder production and trading ring, targeting consumer groups including children, the elderly, and pregnant women. More than 570 products were seized, and many subjects were prosecuted.

The Ministry of Health affirmed that it is closely coordinating with the Ministry of Public Security to strictly handle the case, punish the right person, and punish the right crime.

Along with the official dispatch on the Hikid case, the Food Safety Department also requested the Departments of Health and Food Safety Management Boards in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and other localities to review information related to establishments producing and trading fake milk. Post-inspection work is emphasized, especially for self-declared and registered products, especially high-risk items such as supplementary foods for young children.

According to current regulations, the People's Committees of provinces and cities are directly responsible for receiving announcements, inspecting and handling food safety violations. Every year, the Ministry of Health issues documents directing localities to strengthen post-inspection, in order to tighten management of product groups that pose a risk of fraud and harm to consumers' health.
