Fostering the application of technology of industry 4.0 in tourism development

On the morning of May 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a training course to update and improve knowledge about information technology and the application of 4.0 technology in tourism development.

Participating in the training course, delegates were provided with the latest knowledge about the trend of applying industry 4.0 to develop tourism in the world by experts in Digital Arts, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, such as: applying virtual reality technology (AR/VR) in the hotel industry; applying AI in researching, analyzing the tourism market and supporting the development of content to promote local tourism products; skills to develop multi-channel multimedia communication with tourism businesses to easily access customer files...

The province currently has 1,570 accommodation establishments with about 16,000 rooms. Therefore, the application of 4.0 technology in accommodation establishments, especially in the group of accommodation establishments in the form of motels, homestays, and 1-3 star hotels, is very necessary; it is an effective tool for Lao Cai to become the leading "green", "smart" natural and adventure sports tourism destination in Vietnam and the region, associated with the unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
