After more than 3 months of working and creating, Mr. Vo Tan Tan - owner of Taboo bamboo handicraft workshop (Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An) - and his fellow craftsmen packaged the bamboo mantis model that the workshop created to deliver to customers.

From the claws, the eyes, the crustacean to the abdomen of the bamboo mantis, Mr. Tan made it, polished it, polished it, and placed it on an open field to dry.

That strange shape made many people curious. When they knew that it was part of a bamboo mantis model, everyone was surprised.

Each part of the bamboo mantis was assembled with near-perfection. After assembling, Mr. Tan placed the product under a bamboo tree. Some people took pictures and posted them on Facebook, creating a "fever".

The bamboo mantis model that Mr. Tan just made has a total height of 2.5m, a leg span of 2.8m, and a body length of 2.3m. The total weight is 8kg. The buyer is a collector in Da Nang, the amount of money was not disclosed. However, the estimated value could be up to tens of millions of dong.

Mr. Tan said it took him 3 months to complete this product. To create a realistic bamboo mantis, he had to find a real animal, dry it, and calculate the proportions. The parameters were then multiplied to reach the desired size.

Mr. Vo Tan Tan is a very famous bamboo craftsman. His workshop produces hundreds of decorative and household products from bamboo. The products from this bamboo workshop have been displayed splendidly in hotels and resorts. Every day, the workshop is also a place where foreign tourists come to experience bamboo crafting.

Before the praying mantis model, Mr. Tan also successfully crafted many giant bamboo models such as lobsters, crabs, owls (photo below) ... The finished products are beautiful and perfect down to the smallest detail.

Meta "kills" Workplace (Business communication application)

Facebook's parent company said Workplace will begin shutting down for users in June 2026. However, Meta will continue to use the app as its internal messaging platform, with users able to access the tool until August 2025.

"We're retiring Workplace to focus on building AI and Metaverse technologies that we believe will fundamentally reshape the way we work. Over the next two years, we'll give Workplace users the option to transition to Zoom's Workvivo product — Meta's only partner-first product — over the next two years," a Meta spokesperson said.

Workplace is a business communication app developed by Meta Platforms, which was first introduced to businesses by the company in 2016. The app integrates useful features, including the creation of multi-company groups and shared spaces that allow employees from different organizations to work together.

More than 60 destinations around the world have charged visitors

According to CNN Travel, more than 60 locations around the world have entrance fees. However, these fees vary depending on the region and the type of tax, such as national and local taxes.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, the media had warned that 2020 would be the “year of the tourist tax”, in the context of cities such as Amsterdam (Netherlands), Paris (France), Malta, Cancun (Mexico) starting to charge entrance fees to tourist attractions .

The tax regulations are expected to create some controversy, with authorities also expressing concerns about the impact on the tourism industry.

Several studies have found a complex relationship between fees and visitor numbers. In particular, many argue that tourism taxes have affected international arrivals to the Balearic Islands (Spain) or the Maldives, while also discouraging domestic visitors.

In contrast, the number of tourists visiting Barcelona (Spain) continued to increase from 7.1 million in 2013 to 9.5 million in 2019, despite the city government issuing many policies to charge fees for tourist destinations.

New discovery: blind fish species in underground river, only more than 20 fish

Chinese scientists have announced the discovery of a new species of blind fish living in an underground river in a cave in Guizhou province, southwest China.

In a report published in the international journal Zoosystematics and Evolution, the fish species with the scientific name Sinocyclocheilus guiyang is described as having a light pink color, belonging to the genus Sinocyclocheilus.

The fish is named after Guiyang city - the capital of Guizhou province - where the fish was discovered in 2019.

These fish are blind and their eyes have degenerated into black spots without a complete eye structure. This may be due to the lack of light in the environment where the fish live.

The population of this fish is very small, only 25 fish. Recent surveys show that the population of this fish continues to decline.

Researchers warn that the Sinocyclocheilus guiyang fish is at high risk of extinction due to pollution from waste and threatened shrimp species, so immediate measures are needed to protect the fish's habitat.
