The book is published by Omega Plus Book, and accompanying the book launch event is a book tour taking place nationwide.

Professor Tran Van Tho has lived and worked abroad for decades. However, his homeland has never been absent from his concerns. It is from that love that the book “Memories to the Future” was born. The book is a collection of political articles, notes and emotional essays, deeply reflecting two concerns throughout his life: “How to help Vietnam escape poverty and become a high-income country” and “The ideal image of a country - where people live happily, have culture, and are respected by the world ”.

The book tour will take place in many provinces and cities across the country, starting from Da Nang (May 20 and 21), Binh Duong (May 30), Ho Chi Minh City (late May and early June at Saturday Coffee, Van Lang University and Hoa Sen University), and will conclude with a talk at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi in June in Hanoi.

From intimate memories of family and friends, to reflections oneducation , culture, and ethics in the process of national revival and development – each article is imbued with the spirit of civic responsibility and the personality of a great intellectual. Whether writing about personal matters or discussing public matters, his writing style is always gentle, restrained yet profound, simple yet convincing.

Not only a personal reminiscence, “Memories to the Future” is also a connection between the past and the present, between memories and aspirations. There, readers encounter a profound knowledge, a delicate soul, and a heart that has never ceased to worry about the fate of the nation.

The book consists of 4 parts. Parts I and II are personal, containing memories of his homeland, family, friends, teachers, childhood, music, poetry... highlighting a soulful, sensitive and emotional Tran Van Tho.

Parts III and IV focus on current issues such as market economy, higher education, public policy, national leadership, political culture, international experience and aspirations for national development.

The articles cover many areas such as: economics, culture, education, science-technology, national governance, international relations... with an easy-to-understand writing style, but rich in knowledge and practical experience.

The book belongs to the Character Bookshelf of Omega Plus Books.

Professor Tran Van Tho is a Doctor of Economics, Honorary Professor at Waseda University, Tokyo. Gold Ray Medal of the Japanese Government. Member of the Economic Advisory Group of many Vietnamese Prime Ministers. Has published many books on economics in Japan and Vietnam, of which one book won the Asia-Pacific Prize (Japan) and five books won the Good Book Prize (Vietnam).
