Brain Cheese brings smart surveillance AI technology to Vietnam

In the context of artificial intelligence (AI) reshaping every field, from manufacturing, transportation to urban security, Brain Cheese Inc. – a young technology company from Korea – affirms its pioneering position with the goal of bringing AI to serve community safety.

Founded in February 2024, Brain Cheese originated from a group of AI engineers who have been operating since 2019 with the aspiration of "turning technology into a shield to protect people" . Faced with the increasingly complex situation of forest fires and urban crimes in Korea, the company has set its mission to develop AI surveillance solutions that help handle situations quickly in the "golden time". According to CEO Minjae Lee, instead of replacing expensive camera systems, Brain Cheese focuses on "intelligence upgrades" to existing CCTV infrastructure - a practical, economical and sustainable approach.

At the Vietnam - Korea Digital Forum 2025 organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Korea Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), bringing together many leading technology corporations and enterprises of the two countries, Brain Cheese hopes to expand cooperation with telecommunications enterprises, system integrators and management agencies in Vietnam.

The company plans to share technology, deploy PoC pilot projects, develop localized AI applications and promote training of Vietnamese engineers in the field of AI chip design and application. This is considered a strategic step to contribute to building a foundation for the domestic AI and semiconductor industry.

Brain Cheese's flagship product brought to the Vietnam - Korea 2025 show is Snatch AI Cube - a breakthrough in smart surveillance technology. Just connect the Cube to a switch or router, the entire regular camera system is immediately upgraded to an AI camera capable of detecting smoke, fire, weapons, falls, fights or intrusions. All data is processed directly on the device, helping to eliminate latency, save energy and ensure absolute security - an important factor in areas requiring high safety such as factories, buildings or public agencies.

Unlike cloud-based systems, AI Cube operates completely offline, has the ability to self-learn and self-calibrate based on operator feedback, thereby reducing false alarms and increasing accuracy. The intuitive interface allows flexible customization of sensitivity, analysis time, or algorithms suitable for each area. In particular, the system only saves important images before and after the incident, reducing storage capacity while still ensuring complete data for investigation.

According to Mr. Minjae Lee, Snatch AI Cube converges three core technologies: AI, IoT and semiconductors. The device uses a neural processing unit (NPU) optimized for AI inference, which helps the processing speed to be many times faster but consumes only 30-50% of the power compared to traditional GPUs. Thanks to the application of YOLO v8 deep learning architecture, the product achieves recognition accuracy of over 90% - meeting the requirements of modern smart surveillance systems.

The model integrates AI Cube into the existing CCTV system, helping to upgrade all cameras into smart surveillance.

Brain Cheese has deployed AI Cube in many buildings, schools and factories in Korea. 2025 marks the company’s strategic expansion into Southeast Asia, with Vietnam chosen as a key market. Mr. Lee said: “Vietnam is one of the countries with the fastest digital transformation speed in the region, with a strategy to develop smart cities and secure digital infrastructure. This is an ideal environment for on-site AI technology like AI Cube.”

According to the plan for the next 3-5 years, Brain Cheese aims to build Vietnam into a safe AI center in Southeast Asia. The company plans to establish joint ventures or branches in Vietnam, expand pilot installations in industrial parks and public agencies, and develop specialized algorithms for monitoring motorbikes, traffic violations, and labor safety – highly local issues.

“Korea has strengths in core technology, while Vietnam has a strong innovation speed and creative spirit. When these two factors combine, we believe that we can create a great momentum for the regional AI ecosystem,” Mr. Lee affirmed.
