The Ministry of Education and Training said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the Ministry of Education and Training will continue to focus on building an education sector database as a foundation for digital transformation.
The education management information system at csdl.moet.gov.vn has been put into operation in provinces/cities nationwide, initially forming a centralized data warehouse to serve education management, monitoring and forecasting.
The whole industry has focused on updating data identifying students, teachers and educational outcomes to the database; by the end of the school year, most students have been assigned a unified identification code; learning outcome data is fully and accurately entered for each semester.
In particular, the Ministry of Education and Training requires units to complete information of 12th grade students on the industry database to serve the high school graduation exam and university and college admissions in a timely manner.
Connecting and sharing educational data with the national population database is also being piloted to synchronize citizen information in the education sector, facilitating the authentication of student records.
The process of building industry databases strictly complies with regulations. Some localities have proactively innovated in enriching data. Some localities have completed self-assessment of the level of digital transformation of the Department of Education and Training based on industry data, reaching level 3 - equivalent to 78.6 points according to the Index.
Thereby, digital data in the Education sector is gradually being consolidated, creating the premise for future data-based analysis and decision-making applications.
In addition to the achieved results, the industry database system is still in the process of completion, so it is not complete and synchronous. Some localities and educational institutions have not updated in time or still lack many information fields. There is still a phenomenon of data dispersion because many educational institutions store data on separate software or local devices, not connected to the common system.
There are still technical errors in the system, for example, some statistical forms and reports on industry databases have formatting errors or are not suitable for reality, requiring data entry units to manually check. Data connection with national databases (population, insurance, etc.) is still slow, only on a pilot scale, not widely deployed, so the efficiency is not high.
The main reason is that the technical infrastructure and software solutions of the industry database need time to complete, while the amount of educational data is very large, diverse and constantly changing. In addition, the capacity of the data management team at the grassroots level is uneven, there is still a situation of inaccurate data entry, and the data must be checked many times to standardize.
