The prize-winning contestants include: Nguyen Tri Hau, grade 11, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province, with 40 points, Gold Medal; Nguyen Tri Hien, grade 11, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted, Quang Nam province, with 40 points, Gold Medal; Nguyen Phuc Nguyen, grade 11, Newton Middle School - High School, Hanoi , with 40 points, Gold Medal; Tran Quang Nhat, grade 12, Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang city, with 35 points, Gold Medal; Lai Gia Khai, grade 11, High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education, with 34 points, Gold Medal; Vu Viet Ha, grade 12, Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted, Hai Duong province, with 31 points, Gold Medal.
The 2nd International Mathematical Olympiad for High School Students, Turkmenistan will be held from April 21 to 26, 2025 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, to honor the “International Year of Peace and Trust”. At the invitation of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education and Training has requested the Institute of Mathematics, under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, to form a student delegation to participate.
Based on that proposal, the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology established a delegation of students to participate in the exam, including: Mr. Nguyen Chu Gia Vuong, Institute of Mathematics, Head of the delegation; Mr. Vu The Khoi, Institute of Mathematics, Deputy Head of the delegation and 6 students ranked from 7th to 12th in the National Team Selection Exam to participate in the International and Regional Olympiads organized by the Ministryof Education and Training (March 2025). These students are not in the official team to participate in the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Australia in 2025. The team was selected to create conditions for more outstanding Vietnamese students to participate in international academic exchange activities, expand learning opportunities and improve their capacity, in addition to the official team participating in the IMO.
The contest aims to nurture students’ talents and abilities, enhance friendship, develop progressive thinking and open-mindedness among young people. The contest has 15 participating countries, including some countries with good traditions in Mathematics such as: China, Russia, Bulgaria, Türkiye, etc.
