Localities launch peak campaign against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods

(Chinhphu.vn) - Localities such as Da Nang, Quang Nam, Dak Lak, Lam Dong... have launched peak campaigns to combat and prevent smuggling, trade fraud and push back illegal acts, especially in areas related to health, food and e-commerce.

Authorities have recently discovered many stores in Da Nang openly selling counterfeit fashion products of major brands.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a plan to launch a peak period (from May 22 to June 15) to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and intellectual property infringement in the area.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the Public Security sector to focus on investigating and destroying smuggling rings and gangs, manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, committing commercial fraud, infringing intellectual property rights, and goods of unknown origin, with special attention to groups of medicines, milk of all kinds, health protection foods, etc.

"The process of fighting needs to clarify the roles and responsibilities of organizations and individuals in the management of licensing, inspection, import control, circulation... of raw materials for goods production, strictly handle corruption and negative acts with the motto "handling one case to warn the whole region, the whole field", "no forbidden areas, no exceptions", the document clearly stated.

At the same time, speed up the investigation and verification of complicated cases of smuggling and counterfeiting involving many subjects, promptly prosecute and strictly try them before the law, contributing to general deterrence and prevention; call on people to actively participate in preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting.

The People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just issued a plan to launch a peak campaign to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods that infringe on intellectual property rights in the province.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned departments, branches and sectors in the province to strictly implement the directions of the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; the Provincial Police focused on investigating and destroying smuggling rings and gangs, producing and trading counterfeit goods, trade fraud, infringement of intellectual property rights, and unknown origin...

The Provincial People's Committee requested relevant functional forces to organize interdisciplinary inspections, surprise inspections in key areas and sectors; regularly review and inspect the circulation stage, especially goods transported from the border, business locations; warehouses, wharves, goods gathering points, trade centers, supermarkets, wholesale markets, production facilities, and craft villages.

The Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee has issued a document assigning the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Police and relevant functional units to organize a peak campaign to fight against and repel crimes of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and infringement of intellectual property rights in accordance with the requirements for pharmaceutical products, drugs originating from medicinal herbs, cosmetics, food, medical equipment, insecticides, and disinfectants used in households and medicine.

Strengthen inspection, control and strict handling of the trading and business of counterfeit drugs, smuggled drugs and drugs of unknown origin; tighten the management of conditional business lines and occupations in the medical field in the area, promptly detect violations and signs of crime to coordinate with functional units to find the root cause, to prevent, handle and recommend prosecution in case of violations according to the provisions of law.

In Lam Dong , the provincial People's Committee has just directed the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the provincial police to organize a peak period to fight against and repel smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, especially for pharmaceutical products, drugs originating from medicinal herbs, cosmetics, food, medical equipment, and household insecticides and disinfectants.

Strengthen inspection and control of the trading and business of counterfeit drugs, smuggled drugs, drugs of unknown origin, fake milk, fake health protection foods, cosmetics of unknown origin and poor quality; tighten management of conditional business lines and professions in the health sector in the area.
