Tourist destinations attracted 182,400 visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday.

During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake - 2025, Quang Tri province organized many activities to celebrate the Party, the spring, and welcome the new year. During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday, the total number of visitors to tourist destinations in the province and participants in festival activities increased significantly. The sunny weather throughout the holiday also created favorable conditions for people to enjoy spring outings.

According to a quick report from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on February 2, 2025, the total number of visitors during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake is estimated at 182,400, mainly from within the province participating in events and festivals; the number of overnight stays is estimated at approximately 3,250. Total revenue is estimated at 62 billion VND.

At historical sites and museums throughout the province, approximately 9,000 visitors were welcomed and served. Of these, about 6,500 visitors came to offer incense and flowers and received free or discounted tickets as per regulations, while about 2,500 visitors paid tickets, generating an estimated revenue of approximately 125 million VND. Over 7,500 people entered the country through the two international border gates of Lao Bao and La Lay, including 1,586 international visitors (primarily from Laos).

In the districts, towns, and cities, various cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities, as well as entertainment venues, have been organized to serve the people and tourists.

In Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, a miniature landscape featuring "A Pair of Mascot Animals" for the Year of the Snake - 2025 has been decorated. The pair of snake mascots, along with the symbols of the That Luang stupa of Laos and the One Pillar Pagoda of Vietnam, represent the close friendship between the two countries and have attracted many tourists from within the province and Laos to visit and take photos.

Ms. Duong Nu Quynh Hoa, who lives in Ho Chi Minh City, was very excited to return to her hometown for Tet (Lunar New Year) and enjoy visiting tourist attractions in Huong Hoa district. Ms. Hoa shared: “I see that my hometown has truly changed a lot. Huong Hoa has many beautiful landscapes and great potential for tourism development. The local authorities have invested in decorating with a pair of snake mascots as a highlight for tourists to take beautiful and meaningful photos.”

From the 3rd to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year, the Trung Vuong Garden experiential tourism area in Tan Van village, Gio An commune (Gio Linh district) welcomed thousands of visitors to explore attractions such as: the tropical garden, bird garden, orphaned rock stream, Apsara waterfall, Thien Cam wharf, vegetarian zoo, horseback riding services, swan boat tours on the lake, etc.

Ms. Hoang Thi Huong, the investor of Trung Vuong Garden Experiential Tourism Area, said that not only tourists from within the province but also many visitors from other provinces, especially Hue City and Quang Binh Province, and particularly visitors from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City...

In Vinh Linh district, the Ru Linh eco-tourism community area welcomed nearly 5,000 visitors from the 1st to the 4th day of Tet (Lunar New Year).

In Dong Ha City, in addition to organizing a cultural program to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the locality organized spring flower displays at Le Duan Park, Fidel Park, and the mini flower garden in front of the Provincial Party Committee headquarters, as well as chess tournaments, stick pushing competitions, and folk games to celebrate the Party and the spring. Quang Tri town organized four spring flower markets to serve the people and tourists.

In Con Co Island District, the flag-raising ceremony for the New Year 2025 was solemnly held at the Con Co Island National Flagpole on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year). To create a festive atmosphere for the officers, soldiers, and people of the island district, the local authorities organized a cultural exchange night with a "democratic flower picking" activity at the District Youth Cultural Center, along with sports activities such as football, volleyball, and tug-of-war, to express the affection between the military and civilians on the island.

Trieu Phong District organized a mass art program to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year, and a chess tournament to celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025. Particularly, on January 30th and 31st, the Bich La Market Festival was held – a unique market that only convenes once a year on the night of the 2nd and early morning of the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year, attracting a large number of people and tourists from inside and outside the province to participate and experience it.

In Hai Lang district, the Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake 2025 attracted the attention of a large number of people. Cam Lo district organized the Harvest Festival of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group in Ban Chua village, Cam Tuyen commune; and held a cultural program to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the Year of the Snake 2025.

Gio Linh District organizes folk games such as the Thượng Nêu Ceremony, Hội Cù Festival, men's and women's football tournaments, traditional boat races, etc. Vinh Linh District organizes Bài Chòi Festival, traditional boat races, etc.

Accommodation establishments, attractions, and tourist destinations are implementing effective measures to ensure the security and safety of tourists.
