Turkish scientists have discovered a personality trait that men, if they possess, are more likely to last longer during sex.
In the study, the authors divided 80 men between the ages of 18 and 45 into four subgroups:
- People who "run out of money before reaching the market".
- People who "run out of money" within 15 seconds of "going to the market".
- Those who get 15 to 30 seconds
- And the group reached 30 to 60 seconds.

People with patient personalities will last longer.
The results surprisingly found that those with the shortest time horizons tended to be the most impulsive. Those who often acted on their impulses lacked stamina in intimate situations.
On the contrary, traits such as good planning, patience and approaching situations without rushing are qualities that make men less likely to ejaculate too early, according to the Daily Mail.
Researchers suggest that there may be a link between low self-control and premature ejaculation, as men who struggle to control their urges tend to act without thinking and are less able to delay gratification. Anxiety and depression are also more common in men with the condition.
On average, people with sexual problems have about six times higher levels of depression and five times higher levels of anxiety than healthy people.
How to fix?
Sexual problems associated with mood disorders are often treated with antidepressants.
However, researchers suggest methods to improve self-regulation – such as cognitive behavioural therapy – could help men last longer in bed.
Studies show that it usually takes men about 5.5 minutes to "peak". But up to 33% of men only reach orgasm within 3 minutes. Scientists say both psychological and physical factors can lead to this problem, including stress, depression and anxiety.
Pelvic floor strengthening exercises (Kegel exercises) can help prolong sexual intercourse.

Exercises to help prolong "battle" time
However, there is one exercise that has been proven to help prolong intercourse time by 2 minutes. That is the kegel exercise.
A 2014 study from Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) asked people with "no money left before going to the market" to do Kegel exercises for 1 hour, 3 times a week for 12 weeks.
The results, published in the scientific journal Therapeutic Advances in Urology , showed that 83% of patients had control over their ejaculation reflex and were able to 'last' for around 2 minutes and 40 seconds - longer than the average duration at the start of the study of around 39 seconds, according to the Daily Mail.
