Cai Lay launches new rural district

(ABO) On May 10, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Cai Lay district as meeting new rural standards in 2022.

After more than 10 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Cai Lay district has gradually changed its rural appearance, the landscape and environment have been renewed in the direction of bright - green - clean - beautiful; the socio -economic infrastructure has been increasingly developed, especially the rural traffic system ensuring cars can reach the centers of all communes and towns; irrigation has been invested in more and more effectively, creating favorable conditions for production and transportation of goods, many production models have brought high profits to farmers, people's income has been gradually raised; the average income per capita of the whole district reached 62.78 million VND/year, the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

The education system continues to develop in terms of scale, quantity and quality, achieving high results in universalizing preschool, primary and secondary education; the general education universalization program has achieved good results.

People's health care is regularly focused on (all communes and towns have standard medical stations); the rate of households using standard clean water is 99.39%...

With the above results, on April 24, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision 434 recognizing Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province as meeting the standards of a new rural district in 2022.

Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Vinh acknowledged, commended and congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Cai Lay district have achieved in the past time. In the coming time, he requested the departments, branches and sectors of the province and Cai Lay district to continue promoting the achieved results, overcoming limitations and difficulties to maintain and continue to perfect the criteria of a new rural district to achieve even higher results.

In particular, the district must clearly identify that building new rural areas is an important, regular and continuous task, on that basis, mobilizing the entire political system and people to participate; promptly develop a plan with specific content and solutions to maintain, sustain and improve the quality of the criteria according to the regulations of the National Criteria Set on building new rural areas at all levels in the period of 2021 - 2025...

On this occasion, Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee presented a welfare project worth 5 billion VND to the Party Committee, government and people of Cai Lay district . At the same time, Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 individuals with outstanding achievements in building new rural areas; The District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 collectives, 12 enterprises and 47 individuals in contributing to and building new rural areas of Cai Lay district.
