Tien Giang: 12,000 hectares of durian are granted export growing area codes

(ABO) On May 28, Mr. Vo Van Men, Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Tien Giang province (under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tien Giang province) said that up to now, Tien Giang has been granted 320 durian growing area codes (MSVT) for export, with an area of ​​nearly 12,000 hectares.

According to statistics, Tien Giang province currently has more than 24,500 hectares of durian, with an output of about 458,000 tons. Thus, up to now, about 50% of the durian area in the province has been granted export registration certificates.

According to comrade Vo Van Men, to control cadmium in durian, the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Tien Giang province is coordinating with the functional departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to conduct pilot models to overcome cadmium. Accordingly, the Department is implementing 6 models in Cai Be and Cai Lay districts.

In the model, microorganisms will be used to fix Cadmium so that plants cannot absorb it. At the same time, plants that absorb Cadmium will be grown...

Initially, the Department of Agriculture has analyzed fertilizers with phosphorus base, but without Cadmium content or content below the limit to recommend farmers to use instead of fertilizers with high Cadmium content. From there, isolate and prevent Cadmium from being present in the soil.
