Ben Thanh underground station is located in the center of District 1 (HCMC), this is the largest station of metro line No. 1 in HCMC. According to the plan, in addition to metro line No. 1, this underground station will also connect with other metro lines that will be formed in the future (metro lines No. 2, No. 3A and No. 4). According to the investor, the skylight is designed with a lotus-shaped perspective from above, interwoven with two main materials: glass and honeycomb aluminum panels, with most of the materials imported directly from Japan, with good weather resistance and superior insulation.

Currently, the ticket control gates have been completed. According to the operator, the ticket control area has two entrances divided into 16 lanes, of which 4 are wider lanes for people with disabilities.

The second floor is where trains stop to pick up and drop off passengers. The remaining two floors are for technical items and commercial spaces and amenities serving passengers.

The platform area (train boarding and alighting) is equipped with automatic doors. Platform barriers ensure the safety of passengers boarding and alighting from the train, and the use of automatic doors will help reduce operating personnel in the station area.

Workers will carry out the remaining tasks such as inspection, cleaning, and ensuring commercial operations on December 22.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, metro project No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) has completed 100% of the construction volume.

It is expected that on December 22, Ho Chi Minh City metro line No. 1 will officially be commercially exploited to serve the people.

Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 1 has 3 underground stations (Ben Thanh Station, City Theater Station and Ba Son Station) and 11 elevated stations along Hanoi Highway - Vo Nguyen Giap Street.
