According to the Gia Loc District People's Committee, by May 15, the district had completed repairing and building houses for poor and near-poor households and completed repairing houses for meritorious people. This is the first locality in the province to complete these three targets.

With the criteria of building houses for meritorious people, Gia Loc has completed 31/48 houses, reaching nearly 65% and is the locality that has completed the most houses for meritorious people in the province.

Communes and towns in the district have completed disbursing the province's advance payment of VND8.91 billion and VND160 million from the "For the Poor" Fund to households.

The software system to monitor the progress of the province's implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses has 4 indicators: Building new and repairing houses for people with meritorious services; building new and repairing houses for poor and near-poor households.

According to statistics, Gia Loc district has 229 policy families eligible for housing support, a decrease of 10 households compared to the beginning. Of these, 190 are meritorious households; 39 are poor and near-poor households. Of these households, 75 are newly built, the rest are repairing houses. This is also the district with the largest number of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province that need to be removed this time.

Gia Loc district has developed a specific implementation plan, assigned tasks to localities and mass organizations to actively support policy beneficiaries in building and repairing houses to effectively implement this policy.
