Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Deputy Director of Pho Yen City Electricity, said: Although it is just the beginning of summer and students have not yet had a break from school, kite flying has become popular in many areas. Many people, especially children and teenagers, are not aware of the dangers of flying kites near power lines, so it still happens again. Kites with metal frames and long strings that fly into the power grid can cause short circuits, sparks, leading to widespread power outages, and even threaten human lives in the process of removing kites caught in power lines.

Not only affecting the power grid, traffic accidents caused by kites have also occurred in the area. Faced with this situation, to avoid unfortunate incidents caused by kite flying, since the beginning of summer, Pho Yen City Electricity has increased coordination with localities to organize propaganda, mobilize people not to fly kites near the power grid area and warn of the dangerous consequences caused by this hobby. At the same time, increase regular inspections of high-voltage power grid corridors in densely populated areas, promptly remind and make records to handle violations of power grid safety according to regulations.

Pho Yen City has installed nearly 100 signs prohibiting kite flying in areas near medium voltage lines, and hung over 150 propaganda posters in cultural houses and schools to raise public awareness. From there, raising people's awareness, so that kite players can anticipate the dangers caused by kites, thereby choosing a safe place to play, without affecting the power grid and traffic participants. In addition, the Electricity sector, together with authorities at all levels and the police force, regularly organizes patrols, inspections and strictly handles cases of intentional violations of the power grid safety corridor.

In order for kite flying to bring complete joy to kite lovers, each person needs to raise their sense of responsibility in kite flying. Choose a suitable place to fly kites, stay away from power lines, do not fly kites in areas with high-voltage or medium-voltage power lines or near transformer stations.
