In mid-2025, the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection (located in Binh Nguyen and Binh Chanh communes, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) connecting the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway with Dung Quat Economic Zone, has officially resumed construction, expected to be completed in 2025.

A representative of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway Project Management Board said that at the construction site, the contractor is urgently scraping off a 20cm thick weathered layer on the existing embankment and dumping it; leveling and compacting to reshape the roadbed after many years of unfinished work.

The total construction value of this project is about 100 billion VND with a route of about 2.1km, expected to be completed before December 31, 2025.

The goal is to complete the asphalt paving work before October to avoid being affected by the rainy season, which would interrupt the construction.

Previously, as VTC News reported, the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway was invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation, the main route is nearly 140km long, with a total investment of more than 34,500 billion VND, and opened to traffic in September 2018. Of which, the section through Quang Ngai is 32.4km long, with 3 intersections.

While the other two intersections have been completed and put into use, the Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection has been "stuck in place" for many years.

One year ago, VTC News reporters noted that at this intersection, the construction unit had just completed a bridge across National Highway 1A and the North-South railway.

It is expected that when Dung Quat - Tri Binh intersection is completed, it will contribute to promoting the development of Dung Quat Economic Zone.
