Viettel Digital launches digital platform to support businesses in accessing credit sources

(Dan Tri) - In the context that businesses increasingly value cash flow control and financial flexibility to maintain competitiveness, VT Finance is a solution that contributes to accelerating cash flow and improving operational efficiency for businesses in the supply chain.

On the morning of June 5, in Hanoi, Viettel Digital Services Corporation (Viettel Digital), a member unit of the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group, held an event to launch the supply chain finance platform VT Finance.

The program was attended by representatives of the State Bank, Vietnam Banks Association, banks, corporate partners and leaders of Viettel Group.

Special event launching a platform to help Vietnamese SMEs accelerate cash flow, reduce opportunity costs to increase production.

VT Finance: Digital platform connecting banks and businesses in the supply chain

According to the Ministry of Finance 's report, as of December 31, 2024, the number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) accounted for nearly 98% of businesses. However, this group of subjects only had access to less than 20% of the total outstanding credit balance of the banking system (while the outstanding credit balance of the private sector accounted for up to 93%). In addition, micro and small-sized enterprises are still limited in terms of management capacity, information transparency and labor productivity.

Therefore, expanding financial models based on digital platforms has become a necessary trend, to support SMEs to participate in the official supply chain and increase the ability to cooperate with banks or financial institutions. Once becoming a part of the chain, businesses also have more favorable conditions to access official capital sources, shorten appraisal time and increase transparent competition.

VT Finance is a platform that helps connect three key entities in the supply chain finance, including: central enterprise (buyer), supply enterprise (seller), and bank.

The platform allows suppliers (sellers) to access bank credit products based on invoices that have been confirmed for payment by the central enterprise (buyer). This operational flow increases the reliability of credit approval and helps businesses quickly convert commercial transactions into operational financial resources.

Mr. Le Van Dai - General Director of Viettel Digital delivered the opening speech at the launch event of VT Finance.

According to Viettel Digital representative, VT Finance has a digitized and streamlined approval and disbursement process, helping businesses shorten the time to access capital from 2-4 weeks to only 3-7 days. Thanks to that, businesses can not only proactively manage short-term capital flows, but can also rotate capital faster to expand production, increase productivity and reduce interest costs.

A representative of a supplier participating in the platform shared: “Thanks to VT Finance, our application process has been significantly shortened, to only about 3 to 7 days. That helps us access capital faster and be more proactive in providing goods to customers.”

From mass digital financial ecosystem to digital platform supporting businesses

The launch of VT Finance is the next step in Viettel Digital's vision of creating a digital society and promoting financial inclusion, following the success of the Viettel Money digital financial ecosystem with nearly 30 million users. Different from individual customers, VT Finance sets long-term goals for the business sector, especially small and medium enterprises, to ensure the continuity and sustainability of the supply chain in the context of digital economic development.

Mr. Le Van Dai - General Director of Viettel Digital - emphasized: “The establishment of VT Finance is not only of economic significance, but also a strategic solution to promote comprehensive finance, creating a foundation for sustainable growth and enhancing national competitiveness in the digital age. At the discussion session within the framework of the event, Viettel Digital leaders, representatives of partners and economic experts discussed practical issues on capital access and cash flow problems in the supply chain.

Speaking at the launch event of VT Finance, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Director of the Payment Department, State Bank of Vietnam, said: “We highly appreciate the proactive and creative spirit of the business community, especially those applying modern technology to the financial sector.

In the context of a rapidly digitalizing and volatile global economy, increasing competitiveness through digital financial models such as VT Finance is not only a practical priority for businesses, but also a specific way to realize Resolution 57-NQ/TW on digital transformation and innovation, as well as Resolution 68/NQ-CP on developing the private economic sector into an important driving force of the economy.
