Flash flood in Long Thang village (Hanh Dich commune)

Since the evening of May 28, heavy rain has been causing water from upstream to flow rapidly. Faced with this situation, the Hanh Dich commune government and the armed forces stationed in the area have quickly disseminated information and supported people to evacuate from low-lying areas and areas at risk of landslides.

Mr. Lo Van Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hanh Dich Commune, said that at around 9:00 p.m. on May 28, a flash flood suddenly hit the Long Thang hamlet cluster. The flash flood swept away rocks and soil from upstream of Pung stream, damaging some houses, sweeping away many properties, and damaging roads, rice fields, and crops.

Mr. Viet added that fortunately, due to the early response, there were no casualties. The local government is currently calculating the specific damage.
