At the workshop, representatives of the Department of Disease Prevention ( Ministry of Health ) and the Vietnam Association for Occupational Safety and Health shared about the occupational hygiene work of state management agencies, recommendations for trade unions in ensuring occupational safety and hygiene (OSH), preventing and combating occupational accidents and diseases; some recommendations for trade unions in identifying and assessing risks, ensuring OSH in enterprises.
Assessments show that over the years, trade unions at all levels have made continuous efforts and implemented many practical activities, contributing significantly to raising awareness, sense of responsibility and improving occupational safety and health conditions in enterprises and production facilities.
However, the reality of occupational safety and health in many places is still complicated. The main reason comes from the limited awareness of law compliance of some employers, working conditions that contain many dangerous and toxic factors. Especially the negligence, lack of initiative, and limited capacity in identifying, assessing and preventing risks at the facility.
According to incomplete statistics, from the beginning of 2025 until now, the number of cases, the number of injured people, and the number of deaths due to work-related accidents have all increased compared to 2024. Specifically, the number of people with work-related accidents increased by 1,062 people, the number of deaths increased by 54 people...
Regarding the above issue, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Science and Technology for Occupational Safety and Health Ha Tat Thang emphasized that this is a red warning that each agency and individual needs to consider to find the cause and solution to prevent occupational accidents and diseases.

According to Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu, serious and fatal work accidents still occur, occupational diseases still pose many potential risks; causing huge losses in human life and property, affecting the sustainable development of businesses and social security.
To create changes in the coming time, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu said that each union official needs to improve their sense of responsibility, initiative, sensitivity, and creativity in their work, enhance the role and responsibility of the union organization at all levels in identifying and assessing risks, creating a solid wall to protect the health and lives of workers. At the same time, union officials should step up propaganda and dissemination of laws; on-site first aid skills when there are occupational accidents of the safety and hygiene team; and further strengthen training in the coming time...
