On November 13, the People's Committee of Can Tho City issued a document on the transfer of housing and land facilities to Can Tho University of Technology.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Can Tho City agreed to transfer the housing and land facilities of Can Tho College (30/4 Street, Tan An Ward, area of about 5.2 hectares) to Can Tho University of Technology and Engineering as a training facility. Can Tho College will soon be merged into Can Tho University of Technology and Engineering.

Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Thanh Nha, Principal of Can Tho University of Technology, said that the school was established on January 29, 2013. Campus 1 of the school is located on Nguyen Van Cu Street, Cai Khe Ward, with an area of 1.2 hectares; Campus 2 is planned to be built in Long Tuyen Ward, with an area of 17.9 hectares.
Up to now, campus 1 has been overloaded and the project of clearing, compensating, and reclaiming land in phase 1 (5.7 hectares) of campus 2 has not been completed yet. Can Tho University of Technology hopes to soon receive the house and land of Can Tho College to ensure facilities for teaching, practice, scientific research, etc.
On December 2, 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1519/QD-TTg approving the planning of Can Tho City for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. According to the decision, Can Tho College of Economics and Technology will become Can Tho University of Agricultural Economics and Technology. Can Tho Vocational College will be upgraded to a high-quality vocational training institution. Can Tho Vocational College will also be invested in 3 key occupations at the ASEAN level. Can Tho Medical College will continue to be upgraded.
