To promptly direct the removal of difficulties and encourage businesses to soon restore production, on September 16, Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the post-storm recovery work at Nam Phat Shipbuilding and Shipping Joint Stock Company, Quang Yen Town.
Reporting to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the leader of Nam Phat Shipbuilding and Shipping Joint Stock Company said: Storm No. 3 caused severe damage to the unit's infrastructure with total estimated damage of over 200 billion VND. The storm caused more than 100,000 square meters of factory roofs to be blown off and collapsed; many ships and boats being built or repaired at the factory were damaged; the area suffered a widespread power outage, causing production activities to temporarily suspend...
However, with the spirit of initiative and self-reliance, immediately after the storm, the Company mobilized 100% of its staff and workers to focus on repairing and checking equipment and machinery, temporarily reinforcing some areas, and using generators to replace the lost grid power to restart production.
In parallel, with the spirit of mutual love and support, the Company has helped people in the area overcome the consequences of the storm. As a roofing manufacturer, the Company has organized to replace and re-roof 14 households in Quang Yen town.
During the inspection, to accompany Quang Ninh in overcoming the storm, the unit proposed to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to volunteer to support, replace, and re-roof the roofs of poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the province.
Appreciating the proactive and positive spirit of Nam Phat Shipbuilding and Shipping Joint Stock Company, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy directed relevant units to immediately deploy support measures to help the unit quickly restore production.
He hoped that, immediately after the power grid is restored, the Company would promptly resume all production activities, especially the construction and repair of water vehicles and tourist boats affected by the storm to soon put them into operation, serving tourism recovery activities.
In addition, focus on raw materials, promote the production of corrugated iron roofs to supply the market, support people in renovating and repairing their houses; ensure transparency and list product prices, commit not to increase prices during times when demand for corrugated iron roofs is high.
Quang Ninh province will continue to accompany and have timely support policies for businesses affected by the storm; work with banks to implement policies on debt rescheduling, debt extension, tax exemption and reduction, and financial obligation fees to help businesses recover production quickly and sustainably.
