Security company Zimperium has just discovered ClayRat spyware that can deeply access Android phones. (Photo: Zimperium) This type of malware can read messages, record call logs, take photos with the front camera and send automatic messages without the user knowing.
ClayRat is disguised as a familiar application like TikTok or Google Photos to trick users into installing it. When users download APK files from sources other than Google Play, malware secretly infiltrates and activates sensitive access permissions.
This malware also impersonates the Google Play interface to make users think they are updating a legitimate application. Zimperium says ClayRat has spawned more than 600 different variants in just three months, constantly changing to evade antivirus software. Experts recommend that users do not download applications from outside the Google market, do not click on strange links and turn on Play Protect for prevention.
If you suspect your device is infected with ClayRat, immediately uninstall the suspicious application and scan the entire system to protect personal data. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Many scams using AI technology are on the rise | News 141
