RT reported that on October 27, when asked about the time frame for a potential Russia-US summit, Russian President Putin's assistant, Mr. Yury Ushakov, refused to give an expected time.
"There is no specific time yet, but we are basically ready to hold the meeting," Mr. Ushakov said.

Asked further about whether the potential meeting could take place this year, Mr. Ushakov replied: “I don’t know,” but recalled that the summit between Mr. Putin and Mr. Trump in Alaska (USA) in August 2025 was prepared very quickly.
Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump proposed holding the next summit with President Putin in Budapest, Hungary, and Moscow expressed its willingness to participate.
However, the US leader canceled this intention a few days later, saying that he did not believe the negotiations would bring the desired results at this stage of the dialogue, and called for a pause in hostilities along the current front lines in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The remarks marked a sharp change in tone from President Trump, who had previously called for a comprehensive peace deal to resolve the conflict, rather than a temporary ceasefire. This approach has been supported by Russia, which has long insisted it is seeking a lasting solution to the conflict.
