Seen from above, the painting of a cat sleeping with a fish in its arms emerging from a field represents the traditional Thai proverb about abundance.

Farmer Tanyapong Jaikham and a group of workers planted seedlings in several adjacent plots in a field in Chiang Rai province, northern Thailand, creating the artwork to attract tourists and cat lovers.
“We expect tens of thousands of people to come see the work in the rice fields,” he said.
Jaikham said he and his team planted the trees according to GPS coordinates to ensure they accurately represented the artist’s original sketch, and the trees would change color as they grew. In the final stage, the image of a cat emerged from a field of golden ripe rice.
Observation towers have been erected around the fields so visitors can admire the artwork based on the Thai proverb: “Fish in the water and rice in the fields.”
As the world's second largest rice exporter after India, Thailand aims to export 8.5 million tonnes this year.
The venue is also suitable for young people who want to learn about the interaction between art and technology, Tanyapong said.
“In the past, rice was mainly considered as a staple food. This way we can develop tourism and agriculture at the same time,” Tanyapong said.
