Sketching participants in Phu Loc show off their work after stopping to create. |
The sketching journey after many years of traveling through the lands of the ancient capital of Hue stopped at Phu Loc in the last days of March, when the fresh spring weather still appeared in each famous place the delegation passed by. More than 40 artists from the Hanoi Sketching Group combined with Hue artists participated in the sketching journey organized by the Hue Museum of Fine Arts.
Nearly a week of wandering around the beautiful landscapes of Phu Loc gave the artists many experiences and emotions. Each stop captivated them not only with their true feelings before the beautiful nature, but also brought to life their own unique perspective on the paintings.
The waterfalls, primeval forests, ancient villas in Bach Ma National Park, Hai Van Quan, Thanh Duyen Pagoda, Canh Duong Beach, Cau Hai Lagoon... through the talented perspectives and strokes of the artists seem to become more sparkling and magical than ever. With a variety of materials, the artists have faithfully conveyed real images into their works, immersing viewers in a poetic space with the beauty of rivers, streams, seas, lakes, and mountains. Together with nature, the people here have created a diverse and colorful cultural picture of the ecosystem, customs, and daily activities of the people through many generations.
Many artists participating in the program, especially those from Hanoi, were amazed by the beauty that nature has bestowed on the southern land of Thua Thien Hue . Therefore, they took advantage of almost all their time to both experience and create. The works with many perspectives, in many different dimensions, are like a thank you for setting foot in this place. As for Hue artists, Phu Loc, although familiar, is a new experience every time they go. This land of converging scenery "up the mountains and down to the sea" is an extremely emotional material for them to put into their works, never repeating. Depending on the time and space in different locations, they have unintentionally created creative inspiration for the artists.
Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Trai, Director of the Hue Museum of Fine Arts and head of the sketch program's organizing committee, said that the beautiful landscapes of Phu Loc that the artists included in their works have created a diverse and colorful cultural picture of the land and its people. The sketches of the participants in this program have contributed to preserving, promoting and honoring the cultural values and natural landscapes of Phu Loc to domestic and international tourists through the perspective of sketch art.
“The artists’ works are painted with all their passion and enthusiasm. They have put their heart and soul into their works to dedicate to Hue and these works will be preserved, displayed and promoted effectively by the Hue Museum of Fine Arts to contribute to introducing and promoting Hue’s cultural heritage in general, and the beauty of the land and people of Phu Loc in particular to the public,” Ms. Trai shared.
Sketching journey through Hue Starting from 2020, the Sketching Journey has traveled through many areas of the ancient capital of Hue, from the urban center of Hue, to the lowland districts to the highland districts, to famous landmarks to directly sketch architectural works, cultural works, landscapes, people, cuisine ... After each creative occasion, the works are displayed to introduce to the public, as well as printed into photo books. Maintaining this program contributes to preserving, promoting and honoring the cultural values of the ancient capital of Hue to domestic tourists and international friends through the perspective of sketching art. |
