Can Tho City: Honoring 50 outstanding collectives and individuals

According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the city currently has 1,202 grassroots unions and 90,469 union members. In recent years, unions at all levels have organized many meaningful and practical activities to care for union members and workers such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month"; "Welfare program for union members"; "Shift meals", "Union meals", building "Union shelters", taking care of union members' health, etc.

Many emulation movements were launched and implemented by trade unions at all levels, achieving typical substantive results such as the movements: "Good worker, creative worker", " Scientific research - Experience initiative", "Good consultant, good service; the movement "Green - clean - beautiful", the movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework" ... In 2024, the city's trade unions at all levels had 2,198 topics, initiatives, experiences; 126 emulation works and products; 351 "skillful mass mobilization" models registered for implementation.

Exchange and share experiences from outstanding union members

At the conference, 50 outstanding collectives and individuals were honored and awarded by the Can Tho City Labor Federation. On this occasion, delegates also had the opportunity to exchange and share experiences with outstanding union members who have had many initiatives and positive contributions to the work of the Union.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen respectfully acknowledged and commended the outstanding contributions of typical enterprises that have always accompanied and practically cared for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers; honored the exemplary union members and excellent workers - those who constantly strive, dedicate and innovate in production, making an important contribution to the overall development of enterprises and the city.

At the same time, highly appreciated the proactive and flexible role of the City Labor Federation in widely implementing emulation movements such as "Good workers, creative workers", "Initiatives, technical improvements", "Productivity - quality - efficiency". Through these movements, thousands of initiatives and practical solutions of workers, civil servants and employees have been applied in practice, bringing billions of dong in benefits to businesses, creating more motivation to improve productivity and labor quality.

In the coming time, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City requested that the city's Trade Unions at all levels need to strongly innovate their thinking about emulation in the new situation, so that the emulation movement becomes increasingly closer, more practical, and attracts a large number of union members and workers to participate. Emulation must be associated with productivity - quality - efficiency - creativity - safety, aiming at the sustainable development goals of each agency, unit, enterprise and the city. Trade Unions at all levels need to strengthen coordination with the government and employers to effectively take care of the material and spiritual life of workers; organize periodic dialogues at the workplace...

In particular, it is necessary to focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade union cadres, especially in the non-state sector, ensuring that they have the courage, enthusiasm, prestige and capacity to organize movements, understand the law and modern trade union work skills. It is necessary to promote cadre training, arrange the organizational apparatus in a reasonable direction, avoid overlap, increase proactiveness, flexibility and operational efficiency. At the same time, promote the supervisory role of the Trade Union in the implementation of labor policies and laws, ensuring that the legitimate rights of workers are respected and protected in substance.
