This is one of the best achievements ever of the delegation in the continental arena, showing the remarkable progress of Vietnamese canoeing.
The prestigious gold medal came from the C4 Mix event. Against strong opponents such as China and Kazakhstan, the quartet of Pham Hong Quan, Bui Thi Yen, Ma Thi Thuy and Hien Nam competed excellently to cross the finish line first, bringing victory to the Vietnamese team.
In addition to the gold medals, Vietnamese athletes also brought home an impressive 4 silver medals. The duo Nguyen Thi Huong - Nguyen Hong Thai competed strongly in the C2 women's 1,000m event, only losing to the Chinese team.
Rower Diep Thi Huong continued to affirm her class when she won 2 silver medals in the C1 women's 500m and C2 women's 500m (coordinated with Nguyen Thi Huong).
Nguyen Hong Thai also contributed to the medal list with a silver medal in the C1 500m event. The only bronze medal belonged to the pair Nguyen Thi Huong - Diep Thi Huong in the C2 women's 200m event.

Although not winning a gold medal in this event, the result was still enough to affirm the potential and depth of Vietnam's canoeing force.
The tournament took place from May 5 to 10 in Nanchang City (China), gathering the strongest teams in Asia. The Vietnamese canoeing team participated with 20 athletes and 5 coaches, led by Ms. Duong Thi Hong Hanh - Head of the Rowing Department (Vietnam Sports Administration).
The impressive achievements at this tournament are the sweet fruit of the thorough investment, intensive training and tireless efforts of the athletes and coaches. This is also a positive signal for the journey towards the Asiad and Olympics, where Vietnamese canoeing hopes to continue writing new pages of history.
