The report on the socio-economic situation in April and key tasks in May 2024 presented by the Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office Nguyen Trong Trang at the meeting stated: In April 2024, the Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing all levels, branches and localities to urgently advise and resolutely and effectively implement tasks and solutions in the management field, ensuring the highest completion of the goals and targets set out in the Resolutions of the Government , the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee on the main tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2024.

Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Trong Trang reported on the socio-economic, national defense and security situation in April and key tasks in May 2024.

During the month, the province's socio-economic situation continued to develop, with many sectors increasing significantly compared to the same period last year. Notably, agricultural production continued to be stable and quite comprehensive, livestock development was stable, and no dangerous epidemics occurred; the whole province planted 1,180 hectares of concentrated forests, handled 18 cases of Forestry Law violations, and paid 269 million VND to the State budget; aquatic product output increased by 1.9%...

In the industrial and construction sector, manufacturing enterprises have proactively restructured, optimized production processes, strived to overcome difficulties, and flexibly adapted to market fluctuations to stabilize and develop production. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in April is estimated to have increased by 10.26%, and 20 out of 25 key industrial products saw increased output compared to the same period last year.

The service sectors recovered strongly, with total retail sales of goods and services increasing by 15.2%, export value increasing by 15.8%, total tourist arrivals increasing by 18.9%, total tourism revenue increasing by 32.7%; freight transport increased by 12.4%, passenger transport increased by 12.7%, transport revenue increased by 13.3%; and the number of newly established businesses increased by 14.7%.

State budget revenue in April is estimated at VND 3,551 billion, equal to 83% over the same period; accumulated revenue in the first 4 months of 2024 is estimated at VND 18,214 billion, equal to 51% of the estimate and up 26% over the same period.

Alongside this, the quality of socio-cultural activities continued to improve; social welfare policies were fully and promptly implemented. The province launched a campaign to support the construction of housing for poor households, policy beneficiary households, and households facing housing difficulties in the province. This is a correct and deeply humane policy, reflecting the tradition of "mutual support" and "compassion," and has been supported and highly appreciated by Party committees, governments at all levels, businesses, and all sectors of the population. During the month, political security and social order were ensured, creating a favorable environment for economic development.
