On August 4, Chinese media reported on twin brothers Zeng Zichong and Zeng Ziyi, from Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. They both scored 666 points on the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) - an exam considered a major turning point in the lives of Chinese students.
The incredible coincidence quickly attracted attention on social media, with many calling it a “miraculous synchronicity,” while the university that enrolled the twins described them as “incredible.”

Always with you since childhood
Zichong and Ziyi have been inseparable since kindergarten. The family named Zichong, which means “a bird spreading its wings in the sky,” and Ziyi, which means “support and help,” expressing the wish that the two siblings would always stick together and support each other.
Both had equal academic achievements from middle school, then both passed the entrance exam to Xuejun High School in Hangzhou - one of the top schools in the locality.
When the Gaokao scores were announced, the two brothers were in their driving lessons. Their father was the first to receive the results by phone. Their mother quickly shared the good news in the family group, surprising even the two brothers.
“At first, we couldn't believe it. We had to check multiple times to make sure we both got the same score,” Zichong and Ziyi shared.

Same interests, same passion
The two brothers share many common interests, such as playing games, watching movies, and often going to the library together. However, each has his own strengths: Zichong is good at Literature and English, while Ziyi excels at Math and Physics. The two often help each other solve difficult exercises, especially in-depth ones.
According to SCMP , because of their shared passion for technology, especially computer science and artificial intelligence, both enrolled in the pilot training program in Computer Science and Technology at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Shaanxi Province. This is one of the top universities in China.
Zichong shared that he chose the school because of its rich academic tradition, while Ziyi liked Xi'an city because of its cultural depth.
On July 25, the official social media account of Xi'an Jiaotong University sent congratulations to the two brothers, calling this a testament not only to their harmony but also to the strength of their own efforts: "We hope to see you two continue to pursue your dreams and shine together."
In an interview with Zhejiang Daily , the two brothers said: "We hope to study and work in the same city in the future."
The story quickly went viral on Chinese social media platforms, receiving millions of interactions. One person commented: “This is truly a miraculous coincidence - the twins really have telepathy.” Another exclaimed: “Having one child like this is already a great blessing, let alone two!”
