Hoang is one of the five contestants who won first prize in this year's contest. |
Hoang shared that he was very happy and moved to receive the award. Before the final round, he spent time practicing writing every day to improve his handwriting. He also really liked the theme of this year's competition: My Dream.
“Somewhere I still see children in difficult circumstances who do not have good conditions to study. When I grow up, I dream of becoming someone who brings letters to children in difficult areas. I will teach them to write beautifully,” Hoang said.
Hoang was born into a family with a tradition of teaching. His father is a junior high school physics teacher and his mother is an elementary school teacher, so he was inspired early and given the opportunity to practice systematically.
Over the years, in addition to studying at school and playing, Hoang still spends a certain amount of time carefully writing each line beautifully with admirable perseverance. He not only considers writing a skill, but also a passion, a way to express his soul and seriousness in studying.
Ms. Ngo Thi Nhung, in Cat Thanh town (Nam Dinh), Hoang's mother, accompanied and led her son over hundreds of kilometers to Hanoi to attend the final round.
“This is the second year my child won first prize, but I am still deeply moved by his efforts,” she said.
According to Ms. Nhung, right from the first grade, her son wrote very neat and round strokes. Encouraged by his parents that “handwriting reflects character”, he persevered and was interested in practicing writing.
When I finish a writing assignment, I often ask my mother if my writing is beautiful and I am happy when she compliments me. Thanks to my beautiful handwriting, when I do homework, I also do it carefully, meticulously, and pay more attention to aesthetics.
“The important thing is that your child has fun and is interested in practicing writing. In the digital age, handwriting is not so important, however, when your child goes to school, does an essay or any subject, neat and clean handwriting also makes a good impression,” said Ms. Nhung.
More confident about yourself
Before returning to Hanoi for the final round, Hoang was a bit nervous and excited. He was happy because he would meet friends from many other schools across the country. His parents, on the other hand, thought that letting him participate in the competition would also be an opportunity for him to travel and become more confident about himself.
Not only good at writing, Pham Huy Hoang also achieved the title of excellent student, holding the role of Team Leader of Cat Thanh Primary School. He also won many awards such as: Third prize at the provincial level in the "Vietnamese Champion" contest and First prize at the district level; Third prize in the "Developing Primary School Students' Capacity" contest and the title "Uncle Ho's Good Child"...

Mr. Phan Van Cuong, Director of Thanh Chuong Company Limited, Chairman of the Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy Club, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Vietnamese Beautiful Calligraphy Contest, said that the contest is a useful playground for primary school students.
During the organization of the contest, the Organizing Committee learned that students with difficult circumstances, some with serious illnesses, still participated in the contest. The entries had beautiful handwriting, were written carefully and seriously, which moved us deeply. Therefore, we are determined and make efforts to organize the contest every year completely free of charge for students nationwide who have the conditions to participate.
In addition, writing beautifully also helps students to be persistent, meticulous, and disciplined in their studies to achieve better results. In the digital age, preserving "handwriting" is also to cultivate and preserve beautiful cultural features.
At the final round of the 2nd Vietnam Handwriting Contest recently held in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 First Prizes; 10 Second Prizes; 12 Third Prizes, 20 Fourth Prizes and 453 Encouragement Prizes; Media Prizes, Local Prizes and Prizes for Students with Special Difficulty. The contest awarded 1013 prizes with a total prize value of over 500 million VND to encourage and motivate the training and efforts of young students nationwide.
