Before the final round, both Vietnam and defending champion Iran had 6 points after two wins. The match between the two teams therefore had a decisive meaning for the top position in the group. However, with long-term goals and calculations for the knockout round, both teams proactively chose a cautious playing style to save energy and preserve their forces.
During the 40 minutes of official play, Iran controlled the ball more but mainly deployed the ball in their own half, not creating much significant pressure on Vietnam's goal. Meanwhile, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's students played solidly, followed the tactics and maintained high concentration.
The match ended in a 0-0 draw. This result helped the Vietnamese women's futsal team maintain their top position in Group B with 7 points, equal to Iran but with a better goal difference.

“Today’s match had many tactical elements. The low intensity is understandable as both teams are aiming for long-term goals. We proactively controlled the tempo, kept the players alert and in good physical condition. The most important thing is to prepare carefully for the upcoming quarter-final match,” coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang shared after the match.
Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang emphasized that the whole team has closely monitored and evaluated the opponents. The coaching staff will have appropriate tactical plans so that the team can best prepare for the quarter-final match.
Regarding the squad, all Vietnamese women's futsal players are currently in stable condition, have no injuries and are ready for the quarter-final match taking place on May 13.
