As Man United are making their end-of-season tour to Malaysia for a friendly match against ASEAN All Stars tonight (May 28), Bruno Fernandes' future is a big question mark.

Yesterday, Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal made a final, hefty offer for the Portuguese midfielder. Accordingly, Bruno Fernandes has 72 hours to make a final decision.

The Riyadh club are ready to make Fernandes one of the highest paid players in the world . And Al-Hilal are offering him a salary of £700,000 a week (tax free), four times the £280,000 a week he currently earns at Man United.

The total value of this 3-year contract, including bonuses, could be up to 200 million pounds (about 7,000 billion VND).

Fernandes' representatives have held talks with Al-Hilal in advance and this is considered a final, binding offer from the Saudi Arabian club. The 30-year-old has until May 29 to respond.

If Fernandes agrees, Al-Hilal will immediately start the paperwork for a deal worth around £65m per season.

At the same time, they will also send an official transfer offer worth around £100 million to Man United.

As for the “Red Devils”, internal sources confirmed that the club does not want to sell their most important player. However, they are facing increasing financial pressure, especially after the bitter defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, causing them to lose 100 million pounds in revenue from not participating in the Champions League next season.

Fernandes himself hinted at a possible departure after that defeat: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways because they want to get some money, then that's it."

Al-Hilal's ambition is to own a star name to prepare for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup taking place next month. Bruno Fernandes is the top priority but if rejected, they could turn to other targets such as Aston Villa's Youri Tielemans or Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
