On October 2nd, the construction unit began erecting two temporary steel bridges at the beginning and end spans of the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge on National Highway 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) to provide a passage for motorbikes, ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow while the "miracle workers" raise the clearance of the main bridge.
A representative from the Department of Construction stated that the lifting of the Binh Trieu 1 bridge by 1.08m had been completed previously. The remaining reinforcement and bracing work will be finished in November.
After the Bình Triệu 1 bridge, the "miracle workers" team moved their equipment to the Bình Phước 1 bridge to lift it.
Using the "bridge jacking" technique, engineers will install a hydraulic jacking system under the bridge piers and girders instead of dismantling or rebuilding them. This system works in sync to "push" the entire bridge, weighing thousands of tons, to the correct design elevation.
During construction, a temporary steel bridge was installed so that motorbikes could still travel normally (the first and last spans of the bridge were slightly raised compared to the bridge approach).
According to the plan, the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge will be raised by an additional 1.25m, with completion expected by the end of this year. The Saigon Water Supply Corporation is relocating the D450 water pipeline running along the bridge to create space for construction.
The entire lifting system consists of more than 100 hydraulic jacks, each with a load capacity of 400-500 tons, synchronized via a central control unit and monitored by computer, with a control error of less than 1mm.
Each time the bridge is raised, it is pushed up by approximately 4cm. Once the design height is reached, the bridge is secured with new bearings and piers, the gaps are reinforced, then the jacks are released, the load is transferred to the new piers, and a load test is performed before traffic is reopened.

Binh Phuoc Bridge 1 and 2, connecting National Highway 1 across the Saigon River (connecting Thu Duc City and the former District 12), experience heavy daily traffic.

Workers began installing steel staircases to provide access to and from the bridge deck and girders.

The steel beams under the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge will be reinforced.

Workers began installing a temporary steel bridge at the beginning of Binh Phuoc 1 bridge at noon on October 2nd.

Motorcycles will use the temporary iron bridge while the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge is being upgraded.

The Binh Phuoc 1 bridge will be raised by an additional 1.25m to ensure sufficient clearance for boat traffic.

The bridge upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Binh Phuoc 1 Bridge is significantly lower than Binh Phuoc 2 Bridge. Previously, this bridge was hit by a train, causing damage to the main girder of the central span.
"Genie" continues to push the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge.
Ho Chi Minh City first applied this "miracle technology" to the Binh Trieu 1 bridge lifting project, helping to "push" the entire massive 11,000-ton bridge structure up 1.08m high without demolition. The technology was further applied to the Binh Phuoc 1 bridge, this time to a greater height of 1.25m, to facilitate easier passage for ships and boats.
