Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Principal of Huong Sen Kindergarten (Nong Tien ward, Tuyen Quang province) at the ceremony to honor collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in digital transformation.
Speaking at the program to celebrate National Digital Transformation Day 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Principal of Huong Sen Kindergarten (Nong Tien ward, Tuyen Quang province) shared an emotional story about the digital transformation journey of a small school in the mountainous area.
Tuyen Quang is a mountainous province with difficult terrain and transportation, making people's access to digital technology uneven. However, thanks to the strong leadership of the provincial leaders and the proactive spirit of educational institutions, digital transformation has gradually entered life, bringing about clear changes.
"The Covid-19 pandemic was when we really embarked on our digital transformation journey," Ms. Hien said. When classes had to be suspended, school teachers learned how to film and share videos instructing on childcare and education at home, helping parents to accompany their children during this special period.
From those small beginnings, all school records, plans and learning materials have been digitized and stored online. This has significantly reduced the amount of administrative paperwork, saved teachers time, and at the same time formed the habit of working, managing and teaching with technology.
Teachers have become proficient in creating Gmail accounts, storing documents on Google Drive, composing electronic lessons, designing learning materials using Canva, ChatGPT and other digital tools. The school currently has a digital library with more than 300 STEAM documents and videos, organizes about 200 STEAM activities each year, and a "zero-dollar" Steamlab built from recycled materials - where children learn through experience and creativity.
Parents can easily monitor their children's learning activities through the school's website, creating connection and trust between family and school.
Not stopping there, the school also designed and applied its own support tools such as NotebookLM, Kindergarten Teacher and Principal Assistant (ChatGPT), or electronic lesson plan preparation support application - initiatives originating from practical needs in teaching and management.
"Digital transformation has helped teachers change significantly in their thinking and working style. From being hesitant to being proactive, from being used to old ways to being willing to try new things. The atmosphere in the school has become more positive, everyone feels their work is lighter, more exciting and more creative," Ms. Hien shared.
According to her, digital transformation is not only about applying technology, but also a process of innovating thinking and working methods, aiming for a more modern, flexible and creative educational environment.
Ms. Hien expressed her hope that the experiences of Huong Sen Kindergarten will be a useful reference for schools in mountainous areas, helping to spread the spirit of innovation and creativity in management and teaching.
"The collective of Huong Sen Kindergarten would like to send our sincere thanks to the leaders and colleagues who have always cared, accompanied, and created conditions for us to have the opportunity to learn, share, and spread positive things in preschool education," said Ms. Hien./.
