Badminton is the first sport of the Vietnam Disabled Sports Delegation at the 4th Asian Para Games with matches in the wheelchair and standing singles events.

Hoang Thi Ngoc Thao met the reigning ASEAN Para Games champion in Cambodia, Wetwithan Amnoyu (Thailand) and quickly lost 0-2.

On the first day of the qualifying round (October 20), all 6 Vietnamese athletes had difficult matches. In the men's singles group C, disability category SL3, Trinh Anh Tuan defeated athlete Sangnil Singha (Thailand) 2-0. In the men's singles group D, disability category SU5, athlete Pham Van Toi defeated athlete Nattapjon Thaweesap (Thailand) 2-1. In the remaining events, Vietnamese badminton players all faced very strong opponents and failed to create any surprises.

Bui Minh Hai met Somsiri Pricha (Thailand) and lost with a score of 0-2.

Today, October 21, Vietnam Badminton for the Disabled continued to compete in the second round of the group stage. Vietnamese players could not win in the singles. The most regrettable thing was that Truong Ngoc Binh met Bin Noorlan Noor Azwan (Malaysia). After a tense first set and Binh lost with a score of 19-21, he played the second set confidently, at times leading his opponent by 5 points and equalizing the score with a 21-19 victory. In the third set, Truong Ngoc Binh lost and eventually lost with a score of 1-2.

In men's doubles, Hoang Manh Giang/Truong Ngoc Binh met Fang Chi Stung/Shung Shiau Wei (Chinese Taipei) and won 2-0.

This evening, October 21, weightlifting, swimming and athletics will hold technical meetings and draw lots to schedule events.
