Send love to the distant island
Ms. Phuong expressed that in 2023, having the opportunity to visit Truong Sa town made her happy and proud. She was able to fulfill her long-standing dream when she saw the vast blue sea and sky or watched the beautiful sunset with hundreds of large and small islands appearing and disappearing under the water and sky. Coming here, interacting with the people, children and soldiers, she realized that although the island had a yard and land, there was no space for children in particular and cadres and people in general to play and exercise. She came up with the idea of building a Rainbow Park on a remote island. Said and done, returning to the mainland, she planned and mobilized funds as well as benefactors, organizations, associations, and overseas Vietnamese. With the funding, the Rainbow Fund proceeded to build the project with the hope of helping children and people have a proper public space for playing and living.
According to Ms. Phuong, Rainbow Park not only raised funds from many sources but also received great support and assistance from the people and soldiers of Brigade 146. Therefore, after a few months, the park had a project framework design, auxiliary works with an area of over 500m2, costing 185 million VND. The park has two areas for children and adults. The children's area has swings, slides, bouncy animals, ball houses and the adults and staff area are tools for physical exercise and sports . The park was completed and put into operation in April 2024. In addition, to express gratitude to the generous donors who contributed to the construction of the park, the Rainbow Fund placed 11 stone benches.
“After completing the park in Truong Sa town, last April, the fund continued to inaugurate the Rainbow Park at Tay A Rock Island for children, with an area of 200 square meters and a cost of 225 million VND. At the same time, the fund donated 21 stone benches painted with murals depicting the sea and the soldiers. I think that the two Rainbow Parks are works of love and dedication from the fund, philanthropists, and people and soldiers through each grain of sand and brick. Above all, we hope that in the heart of the mainland in the middle of the East Sea, people and children can play under the colors of the loving rainbow arches. That place will light up faith, hope and spread positivity to the people of Truong Sa in particular and the whole country in general,” Ms. Phuong confided.
Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Truong Sa District Nguyen Duy Ba shared that the two Rainbow parks were completed thanks to the great contribution of the Rainbow Fund and benefactors. This is a meaningful project, with the power to spread to all regions of the country so that people and students have a playground after school.
Towards the journey of happiness
The Rainbow Fund was founded by Ms. Phuong in early 2024. In addition to aiming for a happy journey for ethnic minority children, remote areas, women in the highlands..., the fund supports Vietnam's sea and islands, targeting meaningful projects and works in Truong Sa. In addition, she herself is giving lectures on Vietnamese language and culture to university students in Korea and research experts as well as Koreans interested in Vietnamese culture.
Accordingly, in 2025, the fund will develop a model that combines Vietnamese traditional language and music to promote the strengths of multilingualism and multiculturalism, and strengthen the connection between Vietnamese children and youth in Korea. "It can be said that the completion of Rainbow Park is a great joy for the Rainbow Fund and also a milestone, a stepping stone for the future of the fund to hope to build more parks in Truong Sa. In the coming time, the fund hopes to combine many other meaningful programs when coming to Truong Sa such as connecting soldiers with their families through letters, photos, videos or supporting and helping families of soldiers in difficult circumstances," Ms. Phuong confided.
