At around 1:30 p.m., during a heavy thunderstorm, a nearly 20-meter-tall Bodhi tree on Le Hong Phong Street, Ward 1, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City suddenly fell. The tree's canopy fell onto the street, hitting a man who was riding a motorbike on the road.

Ms. Van, a witness, said that many people joined forces to lift the tree branches to help the man out onto the sidewalk to provide first aid. The victim suffered injuries to his neck and shoulder and was then bandaged by medical staff and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
At the scene, the tree canopy blocked the road, causing traffic disruption. Authorities quickly went to the scene to cut and clear the fallen tree to avoid traffic congestion.

Earlier, at around 1 p.m. the same day, many people traveling on Thanh Thai Street were shocked when a tree about 50cm in diameter and more than 10m high in front of house 28A, Ward 14, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City fell onto the street.

Half of the tree trunk was on the sidewalk, half was on the road, the canopy covered one direction of traffic. Luckily, at the time of the incident, it was raining and the road was empty.

At the scene, the entire root system of the tree was damaged and rotten, with no roots attached to the trunk. Many local residents said that the sidewalk in this area had been replaced with bricks many times, and it is possible that during construction, workers damaged the tree's roots, causing the tree to lose its ability to cling to the ground, leading to the tree falling down during heavy rain and strong winds.
