Earlier, on the morning of May 31, a Facebook account posted information that a “kidnapping by giving gifts and drugs” had occurred on Ly Nhat Quang Street (Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang City ). The alleged “culprit” was a Cambodian national who put a female student in a taxi and was discovered by relatives who stopped the car in time. This information quickly spread, causing public panic.

However, according to verification by Nai Hien Dong Ward Police, at around 9:30 a.m. on May 31, Mr. JS (born in 1996, Chinese nationality) used his Facebook account and translation software to make friends and chat with NNTH (born in 2012, residing in Nai Hien Dong Ward) with a social network account named "Xuan Huong".
After a period of texting back and forth, Mr. JS and TH arranged to meet at a coffee shop in the ward. After the meeting, Mr. JS called a ride-hailing car to return to the hotel. When the car reached Ly Nhat Quang street, TH's family blocked the car and a conflict broke out...

The incident did not cause any damage to people or property. There were also no signs of kidnapping as posted on social media. Working with the ward police, both sides agreed to reconcile and had no other requests.
Regarding the incident, the Internal Political Security Department of Da Nang City Police invited two individuals who posted false information to work. Both admitted that they had not verified the content, only heard it "in passing" and then quickly shared it on social media to "warn". This behavior was warned and handled according to regulations.
