On the streets of Manchester, Man City fans celebrated and sang all night long. However, some fans were too excited and continuously destroyed objects on the street.
Many fans were arrested for causing trouble and vandalism.
At Piccadilly Gardens, Greater Manchester Police said they were forced to use force to intervene when Man City fans showed signs of rioting. These extremist fans then resisted, smashed police patrol cars and fled. Some Man City fans also climbed onto roofs, kicked police car doors and knocked down traffic lights. They did not stop there, they organized flares and fought with each other, causing chaos on the streets.

Police said a number of men were arrested on suspicion of damaging the car and causing road rage. Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Rick Jackson said: “This is a significant event in the history of the city of Manchester but there has been a lot of trouble.
Last night was a busy night for Greater Manchester Police, with a large number of unruly fans being managed over the last 24 hours. However, our officers showed great professionalism and hard work. Although a number of arrests were made in Piccadilly Gardens, the small number of unruly fans did not detract from what was a fantastic night for the city.”

Violence also broke out at Depot Mayfield, a Manchester venue where thousands of fans gathered. Man City fans were drunk and threw beer bottles at each other, injuring several people. A similar incident took place at the Love Factory nightclub.
A host of celebrities were also spotted celebrating in the crowd, including Oasis singer-songwriter Noel Gallagher and former boxer Ricky Hatton. Oasis Noel Gallagher also celebrated wildly as his childhood favourite team made history.
