Bac Giang Ward: Creating a modern, friendly and safe living environment

BAC NINH - In the flow of development, Bac Giang ward (Bac Ninh province) is gradually affirming its position as a key, dynamic and innovative locality. During the past term, the ward has worked together to implement many drastic and synchronous solutions to build a "bright - green - clean - beautiful", civilized and modern urban area, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives.

Changes from key projects

Looking back on the development path, one of the strong marks of Bac Giang ward is the strong change in urban infrastructure. From small, narrow roads with unsynchronized traffic, it has now expanded into major traffic routes connecting conveniently with neighboring areas. Notably, a series of key projects have been invested and put into use such as: A Lu Bridge, the Northeast Ring Road overpass, the expanding Xuong Giang Bridge, and the renovation of National Highway 31... These projects not only facilitate traffic, but also contribute to beautifying the urban appearance, promoting comprehensive socio-economic development.

In the journey of building a green and smart city, Bac Giang ward has determined that urban development is not only about building high-rise buildings or expanding streets, but also about improving the quality of life from essential works close to people's lives. From 2020 to now, the whole ward has deployed the construction of 254 works including: Medical stations, schools, cultural and sports houses in residential groups - important "cells" in the urban structure. Of which, 246 works have been completed and put into use, bringing practical benefits, improving social welfare, contributing significantly to the spread of culture, knowledge and health care for the people.

In the ward, up to now, 22/26 projects have completed site clearance, reaching an area of 135.1 hectares, equivalent to 169% of the target set by the Party Congress. This demonstrates the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the high determination of the Party Committee, government and people in realizing the goals of urban infrastructure development.

Expand living space

Another outstanding achievement is the expansion of urban space and the arrangement and rearrangement of residents. During the term, Bac Giang ward has invested in 12 new urban and residential areas with a total area of over 100 hectares, creating an abundant land fund to meet the increasing needs of urban residents. The new residential areas are well-planned, have synchronous infrastructure, and are conveniently connected to the surrounding area, becoming new highlights in the modern urban picture.

It is noteworthy that 654 households were successfully relocated from old, degraded apartment buildings, ensuring safety for residents while creating conditions for the renovation of this area in a civilized, modern and environmentally friendly direction. This is a policy that clearly demonstrates the support and determination of the ward government in taking care of the welfare and stabilizing the lives of the people.

At the same time, environmental protection activities have been widely deployed, and people's awareness has been gradually raised. With the strong trend of digital transformation, Bac Giang Ward promotes the application of information technology in management, operation and serving the people. Smart urban area models and smart buildings have begun to take shape, opening up a new direction in sustainable development, energy saving and environmental friendliness. The Ward focuses on improving the quality of planning, organization, implementation and management - especially urban architectural and landscape planning, ensuring consistency and unity. The Ward is reviewing and adjusting the General Urban Planning and proposing to establish new detailed planning in areas with development potential to create new growth space.

With achievements in the construction of a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" urban area, and the firm belief of the people, Bac Giang ward is determined to become a model locality for sustainable and harmonious urban development.
