Strengthening cooperation between the Industry and Trade sector of Bac Ninh province and Xay Som Bun (Laos)

Introducing the potential and strengths of Bac Ninh province, comrade Nguyen Minh Hieu said that Bac Ninh is a large industrial center of the Northern key economic region with 35 industrial parks and 64 effectively operating industrial clusters.

Industrial parks attract many multinational corporations such as: Samsung, Canon, Foxconn, Goertek, Hana Micron... Processing and manufacturing industry accounts for more than 70% of GRDP; import-export turnover in the first 10 months of 2025 will reach about 150 billion USD.

The Bac Ninh Department of Industry and Trade has actively advised and implemented many policies to develop industry and trade, promote digital transformation, build product brands, expand export markets and improve business competitiveness. The commercial infrastructure system has developed synchronously with more than 230 markets, 9 shopping centers, 31 supermarkets and hundreds of convenience stores serving the people.

Up to now, Bac Ninh province has 773 OCOP products, of which 1 product has achieved 5 stars; many typical products have been present in international markets such as: USA, EU, Japan, Australia. Market management has been strengthened, contributing to protecting consumers and legitimate businesses.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged many practical contents on state management in the field of industry and trade, industrial cluster management, OCOP product development, trade promotion and market management, price management, land management and counterpart capital in industrial promotion, business support mechanisms; measures to inspect and handle counterfeit goods, tax evasion, and foreign labor management.

The delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Xay Som Bun province highly appreciated the results and experience of Bac Ninh province in developing industry, trade and industrial promotion; at the same time, shared that Xay Som Bun province is gradually developing industry, initially planning land to build two industrial parks, implementing the OCOP program in the districts, the whole province currently has about 130 factories.

Speaking at the working session, comrade Nguyen Minh Hieu affirmed that the visit and working session of the delegation of the Department of Industry and Trade of Xay Som Bun province contributed to strengthening the friendly relationship and cooperation for mutual development between the Industry and Trade sectors of the two provinces in particular and between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos in general.

The Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Ninh province hopes that the two sides will have many practical exchanges on state management, industrial development, trade promotion, supporting businesses in product consumption, market management, building brands of key and typical products, etc. Thereby, sharing experiences, learning from each other, and opening up new cooperation opportunities between Bac Ninh and Xay Som Bun in the coming time.
