The incident happened on the evening of November 5th. If it had been just one second later, the woman's life might have been lost.

In the quiet darkness of the night on Tan Ly bridge, people were shocked to witness a woman suddenly throw herself into the cold, deep water.
Mr. Nguyen Ben is currently a fisherman, temporarily residing in residential group 6, Binh Tan quarter, La Gi ward ( Lam Dong ). His daily life is as simple as any other honest worker, but in that life-or-death moment, with his decisive and brave action, he saved a woman's life, making many La Gi residents moved and admired last night.

What makes many people admire him even more is that after saving the person, Nguyen Ben quietly left, without making a fuss, without claiming to be a “hero”, and without asking for thanks. For him, it was just the right thing to do - a kind, simple but humane act, contributing to beautifying the image of La Gi people: affectionate, warm and always willing to help others.
On the afternoon of November 6, the People's Committee of La Gi Ward (Lam Dong) held a ceremony to commend and award a Certificate of Merit to Mr. Nguyen Ben, a fisherman temporarily residing in residential group 6, Binh Tan quarter, La Gi ward, for his brave act of rescuing a person in distress.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of La Gi Ward Dang Thi Hong Lam acknowledged and appreciated the noble gesture of Mr. Nguyen Ben - an ordinary person but with a kind heart and a precious sense of responsibility.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of La Gi Ward emphasized: "This beautiful action not only demonstrates courage but also demonstrates the tradition of humanity. Hopefully, that spirit will continue to spread in the community - so that every La Gi resident can become a "warm fire" in life, ready to help and share when needed."
