So far, farmer Le Minh Hai has mobilized 5 garden houses and goat farms in the commune to establish the Da Phuoc Goat Cooperative. In addition to running the cooperative and creating jobs for 5 members, Mr. Le Minh Hai also bought 2 mini tillers to give to 2 poor households in the commune (total value of 30 million VND), gave 1 breeding cow to 1 poor member household (value of 25 million VND), supported 25 m3 of clean land for 4 vegetable growing households in the commune...
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association, the above-mentioned good models and good practices of farmers have been widely replicated, becoming a movement to compete in good production and business, and unite to help each other get rich. Specifically, the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty has been widely developed, the model of "well-off farmers helping poor farmers" is increasingly developing according to the motto "using the people's strength to care for the people".
The movement has also promoted the internal strength of 90 Farmers' Clubs for good production and business, implemented 452 social security projects, helped nearly 12,240 poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households, and together with the association at all levels supported nearly 3,190 households to overcome poverty and strive to become rich.
It is expected that today (September 26), at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall, the 11th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association, term 2023-2028, will take place, with the participation of 300 delegates and 20 guests, representing more than 57,000 farmers of the city. The Congress has the theme: "Solidarity - Innovation - Civilization - Development", expected to take place over two days, September 26 and 27.
During the past term, Ho Chi Minh City's agriculture continued to shift towards modern urban agriculture, high-tech agriculture, biotechnology; developing crops and livestock with high economic value. The focus is on typical agricultural products, OCOP products associated with key and potential agricultural product groups, better meeting domestic consumption and export needs. Farmers are the main force in developing the agricultural and rural economy with many good practices, good models and bringing positive results.
“In the past term, the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association coordinated to promote vocational training, coaching, knowledge provision, transfer of scientific and technical advances, market information and international integration for farmer members.
The Association also supports preferential loans and guides farmer members in applying information technology to production to improve the quality of agricultural products, ensure food hygiene and safety, and move towards environmentally friendly production.
