Thai Nguyen: Phu Binh creates the basic foundation for a new development period

NDO - Originally a purely agricultural district, with the direction of Thai Nguyen province, the Party Committee and government have made persistent efforts to develop the socio-economy, the political system has participated, and the people have actively promoted their internal strength, so that in 2022 Phu Binh will meet the new rural standards, and in 2024 it will meet the criteria of an advanced new rural district.

Currently, the Party Committee, government, cadres and civil servants of Phu Binh district are urgently handling work until the end of district-level activities.

Achieving the new rural district standard in 2022, with the spirit of non-stop, non-rest, continuing the development momentum, with the attention and support of Thai Nguyen province, the District Party Committee and People's Committee of Phu Binh district continued to direct, the political system participated strongly, solidarity, and efforts of the people, so by the end of 2024, in the district, 100% of inter-district and inter-commune roads were asphalted, concreted, 99% of hamlet and alley roads were hardened.

All communes and hamlets have cultural houses, cultural centers, and sports areas that meet the prescribed standards and have entertainment and recreation areas with sports equipment installed to serve the people; broadband internet connection reaches 100% of hamlets and residential groups. Trade, services, tourism, OCOP products, cooperatives, and ecological environment protection in the area are of interest and have changed significantly.

By the end of 2024, the economic structure of Phu Binh district will shift in a positive direction, with the proportion of industry, construction and services accounting for more than 82%; the agricultural economy will develop, forming production and product consumption chains, the value of agricultural production will reach 126 million VND/ha; the material and spiritual life of the people will be significantly improved with an average income of 63.5 million VND/person, the poverty rate will decrease to 2.13%, and temporary houses will be eliminated.

At the recent conference on assessing Phu Binh district's achievement of advanced new rural standards, 100% of the members of the Central Assessment Council agreed to submit to the Prime Minister for recognition of Phu Binh district as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024. This is the first district in Thai Nguyen province and in the northern mountainous provinces to achieve this result.

Currently, the entire Phu Binh district is like a large construction site because a series of works and projects are being urgently implemented. That is the Ring Road 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region which is urgently being completed; more than 10 industrial parks and clusters, dozens of urban, residential and resettlement areas need to be completed to stabilize the lives and accommodation for about 500 households subject to site clearance for works and projects. The district's socio-economic development has never been as vibrant as it is now.

Bao Ly-Xuan Phuong Industrial Cluster in Phu Binh district attracts many businesses to invest in building factories, which will create thousands of jobs in the area.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Binh District, Le Thanh Son, said: "A few cadres and civil servants do not know where they will work when they finish their district-level activities, but we have determined and thoroughly understood that no matter where they are assigned to work, they will serve the development of their homeland and country, so at this time, they must work with a spirit of self-awareness, responsibility, discipline and order."

“In fact, the district leaders and staff are racing against time to complete the tasks assigned in June. In particular, with the support of the province, the staff involved in site clearance will work until the last day of the district's activities to create a foundation for new development,” Mr. Son added.

The foundation for new development that the leadership team and civil servants of Phu Binh district are striving to create is a series of works and projects in the area that need to be urgently implemented, not delayed or interrupted because of the time to prepare for the end of district-level activities.

That is, more than 10 industrial parks and clusters in the area are simultaneously implementing site clearance and infrastructure construction to attract investment in building factories and production facilities, creating jobs and stable income for people.

To clear the land, it is necessary to measure, count, and price thousands of households; urgently build resettlement areas with synchronous infrastructure to arrange, rearrange, and stabilize the lives of residents in the cleared land area. These are very large tasks, the district directs urgent implementation, but must be accurate, comply with procedures and regulations, and must not be done carelessly.

Phu Binh reorganized from 20 communes and towns into 5 communes, although there has been no decision to establish and the organizational structure has not been formed, but currently the work related to preparing for the Party Congress at the commune level for the 2025-2030 term, including the drafting of documents with the requirement of correctly assessing reality, setting out tasks, solutions, and directions for exploiting development space for the new development stage is an urgent task, must be completed early according to the plan being implemented by the district, clearly assigning people and tasks.

The joint efforts of the staff and civil servants in Phu Binh have achieved encouraging results, the work is on track, some targets set for the whole year 2025 will be completed in June. Typically, the budget revenue by early May reached 391 billion VND, equal to 72% of the whole year target, more than 2 times higher than the same period, of which land use fee revenue reached 325 billion VND, equal to 93% of the whole year plan, more than 4 times higher than the same period last year.

That is the result of increasingly growing economic activities, contributing to creating resources to build works and projects to lay the foundation for new communes formed from July to inherit and develop in the new period.
