Lao Cai commends and rewards 500 outstanding students in the 2024-2025 school year

NDO - On the morning of May 28, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province held a ceremony to honor and reward 500 outstanding students of the 2024-2025 school year.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Lao Caieducation and training sector continues to maintain and achieve proud achievements. The quality and effectiveness of education continue to have many synchronous, comprehensive and clear changes in both lowland and highland areas. The work of discovering and nurturing excellent and gifted students is focused on; the sector has many creative and effective solutions in organizing implementation.

The number and percentage of students with good conduct, fair and excellent academic performance; students winning prizes in competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects, scientific and technical research competitions, and art and sports competitions at all levels continue to achieve good results, becoming a bright spot in education in mountainous areas nationwide.

Notably, at the 2025 National Excellent Student Competition, 71/100 students won prizes. Including 2 First prizes, 7 Second prizes, 24 Third prizes, and 38 Consolation prizes.

This is also the first year that Lao Cai students won first prize in Math and History, and for the second consecutive year that Lao Cai province's national excellent student selection team has 10th graders participating.

Lao Cai has 2 students participating in the selection round for the regional and international Olympic team selection exam. Nguyen Huy Phong, an 11th grade IT student at Lao Cai High School for the Gifted, has won a Bronze Medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO).

Recognizing and congratulating the results achieved by the education and training sector in the 2024-2025 school year; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, hopes that students in particular, and the entire education sector in general, will continue to make more efforts and strive to overcome difficulties.
