Big fire at movie theater and bookstore in Ba Ria

On the evening of March 11, the fire prevention and fighting police force of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province was still actively working to completely extinguish the fire on the 3rd floor of the cinema complex of Bach Dang bookstore at 846 Binh Gia street, Vung Tau city.

According to initial information, at around 3:40 p.m. the same day, staff at the bookstore discovered fire and smoke coming from the third floor of the movie theater in the bookstore, so they organized to put out the fire and report it. At the same time, they quickly reported it to the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police (PCCC).

Upon receiving the news, 20 minutes later, the Fire Police force of Area 2, the Fire Police Department of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Police and the Fire Police Team of Vung Tau City Police dispatched 2 fire trucks, 1 water tanker and nearly 30 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

However, the fire area had many flammable materials, so the fire spread quickly, and black smoke covered the entire area. Therefore, the firefighters had to break the tempered glass in front to ventilate the smoke. At the same time, they allocated forces with specialized equipment to approach and extinguish the fire.

At 5:15 p.m., authorities were still trying to put out the fire.

According to the reporter of Nguoi Dua Tin , Bach Dang bookstore consists of 1 ground floor and 3 floors. Of which, the ground floor is used to sell stationery books, the 1st floor is a children's play area, the 2nd floor is a gym area and the 3rd floor is a movie theater area.

The cause of the fire and damage are under investigation.
