The fire broke out at 1:30 a.m. on January 18, at a house on Tran Hung Dao Street, Nguyen Cu Trinh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon receiving information about the fire, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Ho Chi Minh City Police mobilized many fire trucks and dozens of police officers from many units to quickly approach the scene to control the fire.

By the time the police arrived, the house was already on fire. The fire was on the first floor and had spread to the upper floors, with the main flammable materials being tables, chairs, and other interior decorations. The fire produced a lot of smoke and toxic gases, making it difficult to approach.

In addition, the house is located in a residential area, so there is a risk of fire spreading and toxic smoke reaching neighboring households.

Police used a ladder truck to reach and safely bring three people from two neighboring houses to the ground. At the same time, 20 other people were also guided to escape safely through apartment building number 158 Tran Hung Dao.

According to the police, the building where the fire broke out was being repaired, decorated and finished, and there was no one inside.

However, the fire burned about 170 square meters of the house (including the first floor area of about 80 square meters; part of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors and the terrace of about 90 square meters), many properties were severely damaged.
